NMC OSCE New Station Timings Update:
APIE Station
Suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis
This new APIE station tests your ability to assess risk and keep the patient safe. The APIE timing remains the same as per the NMC update: Assessment – 20 minutes, Planning – 14 minutes, Implementation – 15 minutes, and Evaluation – 8 minutes.
Clinical Skills Stations
1. Anti-embolism Stockings
You will be measuring for proper fit, conducting skin checks, and providing patient education – all to keep patients safe. Provided timing to complete the station is 8 minutes.

2. Pre-operative Checklist
This station is all about identity check, consent, allergies, and fasting status. Provided timing to complete the station is 10 minutes.
Professional Values & Behaviours
1. Deteriorating Patient
You’ll need to spot early warning signs and escalate without delay. Early detection saves lives.
2. Patient Private Details
This station checks your professionalism, confidentiality, GDPR, and trust. One careless approach can fail the station.
For both newly added professional value scenarios, timing will be given 10 minutes
Evidence-Based Practice
1. Cholesterol & Coffee
You will write about how coffee can affect cholesterol and how to give safe lifestyle advice.
2. Honey & Propolis for HSV
Here, you will document that you understand complementary therapies – knowing the evidence and research study.
3. Osteoporosis & Exercise
You will write about the prevention of weight-bearing exercise, fall prevention, and long-term bone health.
For all three newly added evidence-based practice scenarios, timing will be given 10 minutes
