To ensure the OSCE test continues to be reliable and authentic, NMC has made a number of changes. NMC OSCE latest updates show us the preparation materials to improve clarity, as well as to address some changes in clinical practice, to support those sitting in the test.
Time duration Changes have taken place in the following stations:
NMC Observed that timing for the following stations is not sufficient and therefore it will be increased as below:
- Fluid Balance Station: Timing increased from 12 minutes to 14 minutes
- Mid-stream Urine Analysis: Timing increased from 8 minutes to 12 minutes
Changes have taken place in the following stations:
- ANTT: In the ANTT station, candidates are no longer asked to follow the “Clean hand – dirty hand approach
Suggestion for Resit Candidate:
- All Resit candidates should be encouraged to review their exam papers as they may be given a different scenario to test the failed skill at their resit.
The updates will be implemented from Monday 9 September 2024, giving enough time to prepare and incorporate the updated preparation materials into the learning and preparation programs.
If the exam is before Monday 9 September, continue to use the existing versions of the materials. If the exam is on or after Monday 9 September, you should prepare by using the updated versions of the stations.
